This is my first experience with a Living Language course, and I found it very useful to brush up my French for an upcoming visit. The set is accompanied by a work book, three CDs and a notebook. There also is a web site you can visit. There are ten lessons dealing with situations in a restaurant, essential expressions, numbers, at home, everyday life, at work, socializing and directions around town. Each chapter is divided into two sections of vocabulary builder and practice, two sections of grammar builder, a work out section where the vocabulary and grammar sections are put together, a bring it together section, where additional vocabulary is introduced and work out sections for you to write in.Each chapter is associated with eight tracks on the CD. There are three speakers: a woman who provides the English portions of the book and a male and female French speaker who alternate. The French speakers enunciate their words beautifully and help make the spoken sections more interesting by speaking every other word or phrase. The chapters are nicely put together and cover their topics well. For the restaurant portion, I would have liked the names of more foods and methods of preparation. The section about at work was one that I though the least helpful because I was not interested in the names of professions but the chapter includes the days of the week and how to tell time.Overall, the Living Language Essential French is an excellent course that I would recommend for someone starting to learn French and those of us, like me, who need to recall what they learned years before.

The book is excellent but this is the second one that I ordered because the Audio CDs were missing. You need the Audio in order to fully appreciate and learn the language.

This is a must-have for those who are wanting to French for the first time. This foreign language kit is so easy to understand, plus it has a cd included that helps you pronounce those beautiful words of that language. This kit is a series that includes most of the other popular languages in the world such as German, Italian, Spanish and Japanese. Very easy to understand and read.

I've had success with the Living Language Mandarin Chinese program, so when I decided to learn French, LL was the name I searched for. It didn't disappoint. I'm getting the basics down very quickly, and when I'm done with this Beginner course, I'm going to move on to the LL complete set. Recommended for anyone who knows no French who wants to build a solid foundation of the basics.

Had a good story, in which the friends are trying to figure out the story. Good detective work for the group.

I thoroughly enjoyed Book 2 as much as Book 1. I can't wait for Hearts Grove Cozy Mystery Book 3.

Awesome read. What a wonderfully devious plot. Okay it was fairly obvious who was involved but the plot was so consuming that you just had to keep reading. Loved the way the characters have blossomed from the first book and how their lives are interwoven into the story.When an elite part of town starts having break-ins Ralph asks her to sort of join him and his son's detective agency. From the start she sees a pattern and when she follows a hunch she finds the dead body of a young woman. Throw in an ex-boyfriend, break-ins before the theft break-ins, a strange character around town and a simple sting. Will they catch the thief and the killer? Meanwhile her young assistant and she are both facing romantic dilemmas. What will they do about them?

A really fun series. Henrietta and Ralph are the perfect sleuthing team. Ralph has experience as a retired police man and Henri loves to solve a good puzzle. She describes herself as a woman of action, and she is seldom still. The background feeling of the town is quite charming and Henri’s antique store sounds wonderful. The plot was very intriguing, hacking into security systems and planning robberies. Hope to read more in this series soon.

Danielle Collins uses the second book in this series to further develop the characters and their relationships, and provides the reader with a very enjoyable read. The characters are very likeable and the mystery had enough twists to keep the reader engaged. Looking forward to the next book.I requested and received an Advance Reader Copy of this book. My review is voluntary and reflects my honest opinion.

This mystery was interesting. They way the robberies started out as just doors being left open to the return visit where things were actually taken. I thought that Preston was involved but I was surprised that Nelson wasn't . Maybe I just don't like him. Henrietta and Ralph hopefully will get involved. Vacant wait for follow up book. Thank you.

What I love about Danielle Collins mysteries are they are clean , with no foul language, and no excessive blood and gore. But yet, they are suspenseful interesting mysteries with great characters and suspense. I received a ARC of this book prior to publication and I voluntarily reveiwed it and my opionions are my own.

Absolutely totally fell for this new book series!! Henrietta is a great character and her supporting cast is brilliant.Poor Henri has to deal with all sorts of clues in order to save everything and may even have to deal with an old beau!!Enjoy! I know I did!
