If you want to understand the multigenerational process of your family or other families, whether you are in the field of psychotherapy or not, you should buy this book. I purchased it to learn how to create a genogram for myself and as a prospective MFT.
This book is so thorough. Dr. McGoldrick is a genius in terms of family therapy and genograms. There is no guessing involved when using this book as a guide.

Dr. McGoldrick is the mother of genograms and how to see family dynamics. She writes such interesting items because she uses the rich and famous to illustrate her examples.
