This book successfully did what it set out to do. It gave us background on a teen who didn't succeed at his dreams of peace for both sides because of the unwillingness of his clan to negotiate for peace- in other words, he failed due to circumstances. We knew the outcome, but it was still interesting to see how it got to the point it did. This story is after all one of the favorites and one of the few realistic scenarios in the Naruto franchise, so it getting a novel was expected. It is Itachi's story more than anyone else's and he is one of the most complex characters. I'd say this was well-warranted, well-written, and certainly worth the buy. A fitting end to a notorious and compelling character.Though, with all this being said, there is always room for expansion. Maybe, one day, a novel on his Akatsuki days could be released as well or some form of other media (OVA, movie, etc) could expand upon that. But, this isn't necessary and is instead wishful thinking.Get out there and buy this book. And have fun reading!
Itachi was always an intriguing character, and it's amazing that the whole truth behind the slaughter of his clan is finally here (we learn it in the series, I know, but compared to this, that's just a tiny truth). This book is very well-written, I enjoyed every page. The characters are amazing, each one with their own motivations and beliefs; everything they do has a meaning for them. It's really compelling, but because of that I really wanted to shout at Danzo and Hiruzen and Itachi's father. Stupid men!! My precious Itachi.Highly recommended.
Excellent book. After reading the first and second book, I fell in love with Itachi's character. The books go into detail explaining the life of Itachi.
This book is for fans of Itachi who want to know a bit more about his childhood. While there is admittedly not much new information for fans who have watched the anime and read the manga, fans of his character will enjoy getting into his head. This book may disappoint readers who are looking for a vast amount of new information about Itachi and his family. Many lines and passages from the book were taken directly from the anime and manga, but there are quite a bit of scenes that were not described in depth in the anime and manga. Itachi's development from a very young boy to a ninja is quite well-written and enjoyable.
These novels are a must for any Itachi Uchiha fan, you finally understand all Itachi’s feelings and concerns.
Absolutely love this book. Not only did it brought out the true side of itachi and the way he thinks, but his relationship towards his clan and village. A must have especially if youre an itachi fan.
I'm new to anime but Itachi's story is a great read. No I know what I have been missing all these years.
